CANAL ZONE & CENTRAL PANAMA BIRDING

9-day birding tour

The lowland rainforests and foothills montane forests of central Panama set the scene for a truly amazing birding experience! This tour features birding at Panama's premier birding hotspots including Pipeline Road, Metropolitan Park, Cerro Azul and El Valle de Anton. Birding highlights are seemingly endless, with good chances to see Great Tinamou, Streak-chested Antpitta, Blue Cotinga, Tody Motmot, Ocellated Antbird and so much more.

CHIRIQUI HIGHLANDS BIRDING

8-day birding tour

Chiriqui, Panama's westernmost province bordering Costa Rica, has a rich wealth of avian treasures. The highland cloud forests here are dripping with orchids, bromeliads and ferns, providing the perfect haven for over 50 species endemic to the Talamanca Mountains of Panama and Costa Rica. This tour features such spectacular birds as the Resplendent Quetzal, Three-wattled Bellbird, Spangle-cheeked Tanager, Wrenthrush, Long-tailed Silky-Flycatcher, Fiery-billed Aracari and so many more, all while enjoying birding at a comfortable pace in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

EASTERN PANAMA & DARIÉN

6-day birding tour

As one of the most biodiverse regions of Central America, eastern Panama and the vast Darien are home to many regional endemics and rare species, including Panama's national bird, the Harpy Eagle. This tour brings us to explore the Darien lowlands - its vast matrix of forest, fields and wetlands - and venture into the wilderness of Darien National Park. There are regularly Harpy and Crested eagle nests to be visited; the opportunity to see these rare forest raptors is truly an incredible experience. Gray-cheeked Nunlet, Black Oropendola, White-eared Conebill, Dusky-backed Jacamar, Orange-crowned Oriole and many more await us on this exciting adventure!

RAPTOR MIGRATION OVER THE ISTHMUS

6-day birding tour

The narrow isthmus of Panama is a raptor flyway - over 3 million hawks, vultures and falcons migrate over Panama to get to their overwintering grounds in South America each fall. It is truly one of nature's most amazing events! This trip visits the best vantage points for enjoying raptor migration in central Panama, along with all the other resident birds we come across.
